  • Manchester City have launched a £30million bid for Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling, according to the Daily Mirror.
  • The deal is believed to be £25million up front, plus £5million in add-ons, as the race to snap up one of the hottest properties in English football hots up.
  • Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the 20-year-old, who recently snubbed the offer of a new contract at Anfield.

  • Gareth Bale has put an end to the rumours that he could leave Real Madrid this summer by declaring: “I’ll be here next season”.

  • The former Tottenham winger had an indifferent second season in Spain and had been linked with a return to the Premier League, but Bale insists that he is going nowhere.

  • “I feel settled. I’m looking forward now to playing and winning more trophies.

  • Liverpool are mulling over a move for Burnley right-back Kieran Trippier after Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne rejected a move to Anfield, according to the Times.

  • Trippier, who has also been linked with a switch to Tottenham, has a £3.5million release clause in his contract and is almost certain to leave Turf Moor after the Clarets were relegated from the Premier League.

Now Arsenal have won it more than any other club in the country – and Arsene Wenger is the most successful post-war boss in the competition with six wins under his belt.
However after riding high against Aston Villa, the real work now begins for the Gunners, for whom only a sustained title challenge will do next season.
But Chelsea won’t be giving up their title easily, while both Manchester clubs will also expect to have a say in proceedings as well.
